Possible antidote: apply where appropriate
Words and image by Sarah (Silvermoon) Riseborough copyright 2025
Thinking about making posters, about how much responsibility is appropriate when sharing poems which have intention. The above words ‘Love the Future’ placed themselves next to a profusion of images and words which triggered intense and unhelpful emotions around the knowing that we can’t know what the future will bring.
Only the conviction, that those who have cultivated privilege and power through barbaric and destructive activities have authorship over our future belongs to them. The future does not.
I’m stepping back from offering any more context about the writing, unless it’s invited.
Instead, here are some more words; they arrived in the process of accepting what I am magnetised towards will challenge my dualistic mind, while being the doorways to parts of myself I don’t yet know and need and deserve to be here:
Accept what is yours
live for your desires
and be better in the world, and
be better for others, who
would keep you in their hearts
as ‘The Desired’.
I’m writing about my art practise on another Substack. Sarah Riseborough Artist.
Please excuse the lack of links and other ornamentation, I’m well into my day and there’s been a great deal of time and effort in the preparation of the post- settling into the enoughness of this occasion, and wishing everyone the same.
Love
Sarah
